The Welsh Political Archive Annual Lecture
Tua dwy ynedd yn ôl, cefais i’m syndod, y gwahoddiad i draddodi’r ddarlith hon.1 Cytunais, D.V., gan ofyn am oddefgarwch i ail ystyried y cais o dro i dro. Prin yw’m pro ad o ddarlithio. Enillais fy mara fel gwleidydd, a chyfreithiwr yn dadlau, y rhan fwyaf yn San Steffan a llysoedd de ddwyrain Lloegr. Ceisio marchogaeth dau geffyl r’un pryd!
Yn fuan ar ôl fy ethol yn Aelod Seneddol yn 1959, euthum i annerch Clwb Llafur Myfyrwyr Coleg Abertawe. Yn gwrando r’oedd hogyn ysgol o’r chweched dosbarth. Cefais gymaint o ddylanwad arno, fel ar ôl y cyfarfod aeth yr hogyn ffwrdd fel bollt i ymuno â’r Blaid Dorïaidd. Enw’r hogyn oedd Brian Grif ths a ddringodd i fod yn un o brif gynghorwyr Margaret Thatcher ac yng nghy awnder yr amser fe’u dyrchafwyd yn Arglwydd Grif ths o Fforest-fach. Efallai mai er daioni na’m bod i wedi darlithio rhyw lawer. Taw pia hi!
